BAZOOF!™ Magazine has been largely supported by volunteer hours since 2007. Our magazine has elevated young voices since its inception, first in print and later in digital, publishing stories, poetry, and articles by youth for youth. Over that time, we have mentored countless emerging writers.

With your support, we can continue to nurture the talent, confidence, and creative potential of kids from around the world. If you’d like to contribute to this important mission, you can make a donation of your choosing.

Below we share the story of Sabrina, a youth whose work we published in BAZOOF!™ Magazine. Read on to learn how that experience has impacted her life for the better.

Interview with Sabrina

Former BAZOOF! Magazine reader and writer

Sabrina: I’d say between the ages of eight and 16 years. I wrote stories intended for readers ages 8 to 12.

Sabrina: Being published by BAZOOF!™ at such a young age helped me realize my potential as a writer, as my work was published internationally.

When I was a kid, with the help of this magazine, I was able to hone my craft of using writing as an outlet when I didn’t understand the world and whenever I had a flurry of ideas that other kids may enjoy reading.

Having an accessible magazine where I could submit my work and receive feedback helped me become the young adult I am today, inspiring me to keep pushing to be a writer even during moments of writer’s block.

Sabrina: My writing and creative skills have helped me navigate the world, whether it’s surrounded by peers in a classroom discussing other writers or even using those skills in an internship years later.

I wouldn’t be where I am right now had I not learned from a young age that I enjoy the communications and creative side, which itself affected my pursuits in life.

Even though I published short stories in BAZOOF!™, I found myself in the identity of a poet, and because of that, I was able to see a different way of the world, which I realized not everyone sees, and because of that, my life path has always been intertwined with writing.
